Interkulturelle Kompetenz und Kulturelle Erwachsenenbildung
For people of migratory backgrounds certain areas within adult education have been hardly accessible to date. This group of people is particularly underrepresented as participants and educators within the area of cultural education. The development project "intercultural competences within further professional development in the area of cultural education" was led by the Katholische Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft (Federal Catholic Association) in order to formulate concepts to increase the intercultural competence of educators as well as the need-based development of provisions.
The basic assumption is that the participation in cultural adult education may only be successful if the institutions as a whole change and become more open. Only then there will be a guarantee that people with migratory histories will feel addressed outside of measures to promote language skills, integration and vocation.
The Zentrum für Kulturforschung (centre for cultural research) supervised and evaluated the project. The attached DVD contains concrete practical examples.
