Musik und Gefühl
The volume 'Musik und Gefühl. Interdisziplinäre Annäherungen in musikpädagogischer Perspektive' aims to make the multi-layered connections between music and sensation accessible to a wider readership. Its main objective is to present different perspectives of a supposedly self-evident phenomenon from a range of disciplines in order to stimulate a multidimensional discussion and open up the prospect for further research.
The abstraction “Music”, consciously chosen for the title, is made concrete in various contributions by well-known specialists from different academic disciplines who each focus on the theme from the perspective of their own specialism. Despite the interdisciplinary context, the essays tend to focus on aspects of musical education. Research into the emotions may currently be located predominantly in the field of psychology but can nonetheless look back to an interdisciplinary history which highlights aesthetic, historical and especially educational aspects.
This publication contains the papers from a conference held from 2nd-11th March 2011at the Bielefeld Centre for Interdisciplinary research on the theme of “Music and Sensation”.
